Re: You favorite partition related literature

I suspect Sikhs, most of them were from military background, many of the sikhs conducted millitary style raid in Rohtak area, I think there was case of bomb exploding in Gurudwara in Lahore in pre partition violence, hindus are less likely to start, their mentality is too much, a little too late.

Re: You favorite partition related literature

There is faction of people who believed that Hindus used sikhs against Muslims during 1947 violence.

Re: You favorite partition related literature

what happened? Lahore Shah Alimi and Anarkali areas were Hindu majority (business community) areas and yes they suffered from the violence.

Re: You favorite partition related literature

Dominique Lapierre work is more into political crisis while stanely wolpert is more into comman masses.

Consipracy theorist who hates hindus propogates such thing, Sikh had majorily landholding people and for them partition means loosing their area, hindus resorted in violence simultaneously, there nature of violence is more like start late and finish late, they are more reactionary than pro active in violence.

not only that in pre bluestar days, soldiers of bhidranwale started killing hindus in Indian state of punjab from april but hindus reacted only after death of Indira in october, but when violence started in delhi, noone was able to control their wrath, similar is the case of babri demolition of 1991 and subsequent riots which began after muslims in kashmir chased out pandits after brutally killing some, in this case, hindus retalitated full after two years and again reacted a little too much.
