The inital digit is just 1., so you describe the next set as 'one 1' which is 2 1's.

Now each new set describes the previous set of numbers:-

two 1's = 21
one 2, one 1 = 1211
one 1, one 2, two 1's = 111221
three 1's, two 2's, one 1 = 312211

And so on and so forth. So it just increases each time. :)
