You are telling them that they're huge. Fat. Useless other than for providing fat producing products.

Cows (In My opinion) are lovely animals. Yet, they eat poop and roll in it to keep their hides cool. They produce it profusely and it actually is quite useful as fuel and insulation in cases where houses are built with spaces between the bricks or branches. They also pruduce enough gas that its a concern for environmentalists with global warming (their gas erodes the ozone layer!)

Is being called a cow a complement? Not to the vast majority.
