No you’re not being cynical at all. I mean why would anyone pay for cuddles when you could get a cuddle for free from your parents or even a friend who is into cuddles.
ok maybe the type of cuddle would be different to the one shown here but it’s the sentiment that counts.
Also why pay when free halal hugs are available in nearly all cities of the world.

These days lot of people do these “free hug” things on the street. Not to freak you out or anything but i know you’re going through a tough time. So i’d offer you a jaadu ki jhappi. Also known as magic hug. They say it can be quite healing and can easily improve one’s mood. I guess it’s not the same as a cuddle but it’s more of a halal hug.

Aaj kal ke zamane mein pata nahi chalta..so i put that in just to be cautious. You’re completely right though. how can a hug from 1 female to another not be halal. Likewise from 1 male to another.

haha mujhe kyon laga someone will mention this. Even a guy and girl can share a platonic hug but that is not halal unless they are brother/sister.
A hug by its nature is platonic. It’s an action of comforting someone, of showing them they are not alone and you are with them. All in 5 seconds without words. Iss liye there are all those free hug campaigns

repeated / frequent hugs between a man and a woman [both naa-maHrams to each other] CAN always lead to something else…so, no hugs, no matter how how innocent one makes it out to be, are Halaal.

I did say all cases were not halaal. If both are not attracted to each other and one is significantly older and it is a formality i don’t think it would. One can say it can but i don’t think so.
What if one grew up with a younger brother- who later turns out to be adopted- and through life you have frequently hugged but now you find out you are not related by blood. Would future hugs change things? I don’t think so. Insaan aur jaanwar mein farak to hota hai.

I do not think it is in that way alone. Hugging can happen for any reason .Even non-platonic hugs are there.
