umm probably yea .. but it really depends what kinda blemish .. some things are acceptable and some are not .. as for me i think the only one that would be unacceptable for meh would be Rape, and i'm not sayin all the other crimes are acceptable but lets say his all good now he doesn't do any of that anymore and his a good guy now and it was only 1 mistake he ever did and would never do it again ... YEa i would marry him. BUt it really depends on many things like circumstance, if it was provoked in any way?, ummm .. and like what kinda crime it was? .. like a lot fo stuff and situation and all. so yea hahaha

His criminal background wasnt known before - it came to light later. The guy came forward with it on his own but it seems like the girl in question has already fallen for him. Now, she doesnt know if she should just disqualify him based on this or should she look past it as he is a really nice guy and the offense is over 5 years old.
She should be happy she knows now and can dodge a bullet. She may be in love now and thinks that she can marry him now, but she'll regret it later. 5, 10, 15 years, the blemish is still there, won't go away.

Minor crimes in western states are only held on record for 5-10 years maximum becuase European laws wont allow police and governments to keep records for minor offences for that long.

I would be concerned if the crime in question involved a breach of trust… now in a relationship thats a fatal flaw. :nono:
But if the crime was not a betrayal or breach of a term, but was silly like tax evasion or Joy riding then so long as no-one got hurt and the chap learned his lesson then i guess you can move on. Otherwise serious considerations need to to be made… sharpens blade

what if the crime was 10 years ago in late teens.....
i would be confused... but would be willing willing to give him a chance if he seems stable and a good person... This is very difficult though! I dont think anyone can answer this, unless being in the situation...

***It would create issues of trust ! A crime is a crime , and ultimately any crime is a violation of trust . So even if your friend were to consider the past "Buried" such things always have a way of resurfacing and will eventually cause a strain on the relationship...........
