Pakistan’s nice for vacations after a long time but I wouldn’t want to live there.

It used to be my fathers lifelong dream to move back to PK, mostly coz his siblings lived there. He never did make the move due to practical reasons(having a stable job in the west, kids still studying). Sometimes i feel that he had an idealized version of PK in mind.

Same here. He actually did try to move and start a business there. Came back within a year though.

After both my parents retired from their jobs, they bought some property in Pakistan with the intention of moving back, now that they don’t have those commitments anymore. It has been a couple of years now since they retired. They are still here and I don’t think they will actually make the move. Buying the property was a good idea anyway. It has already more than doubled in value.
