Some ppl think parents will accept it in the end or get used to the partner.. or that the person they’re seeing might convert..
Not so much with religion but I’ve seen plenty of parents who said they would never accept a non-desi son or daughter-in-law but then completely changed their minds and were absolutely fine with it in the end (and I don’t mean just on the surface/just for show)..
