Well it really depends. You can tell how much the person wants you to be there on their wedding or for that matter any function. As a friend, you should be able to understand their situation. I know i have often told my friends not to even send me invitation card and just sms, why must there be any such formality between friends? but again depends on the kind of relationship you share with them.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. What I meant was the whole deal is very rushed, so no time for cards delivery and so on. So you invite your close friend in a situation like this, but like mentioned its a date set 2 weeks from now, but they are not able to attend, will you be mad?
