Re: Would you be mad?
You haven’t stated the reason why your close friend is unable to attend the rushed wedding. Do you even know the reason yourself?
Look, arranging a wedding is so stressful; there is so much that needs to get done. By allowing yourself to get upset over a small issue that is not in your control, you’re just creating more stress for yourself.
If this is a friend that you really care about, I would suggest that you meet her in person. If that’s not possible, then call her up. Explain to her that you would have really liked to send her a wedding invitation card but the date was set in only 2 weeks and you weren’t able to…and that since you count her among your best friends…you were really excited about inviting her and didn’t want to wait until the cards were made and that she is like your “apnay” and didn’t think that she’d mind the lack of card formality. That way she knows that you care about her and that the absence of a card doesn’t mean that you don’t respect or value her. Just explain your feelings and situation in a nice way.
If she has important commitments or valid majboori where she can’t attend the wedding, then try to be understanding and don’t end a good friendship. Things happen in life that we can’t always get out of. If your friend is being petty over not receiving a card (which she’d eventually throw in the garbage along with other cards)…then be content with the fact that you did your part and tried your best to smooth things over. You can’t stop enjoying the wedding just because one person didn’t show up. You’ll have other supportive friends and family there as well.
