On that note, what do you guys make of calligraphy as a tattoo (assuming you can actually read the language and it is a meaningful phrase)?

I do not mean those rather played out (and often incorrect) Chinese characters. I was referring to calligraphy in other languages.

I think it would be beautiful. Something in more Persian stylized script than Arabic script.

Yes! I have a friend who has Persian poem written in stylised Persian tattooed at the top of her back (between the shoulder blades). It looks gorgeous and the poem is quite beautiful as well.
The tattoo my husband has is a Pashto phrase/proverb written in Pashto. Not as striking as stylised Persian but it has a specific and quite significant meaning to him.

I do like the calligraphy idea.
I hate the smell of mehndi. It makes me nauseated and literally sick. Is there odorless one?

My mom just about let me have it when she saw my belly piercing…don’t know what she’d do if I got a tattoo 
My husband has a dream catcher on his upper left arm…I think it looks nice.

tattoo is cheaper I would imagine, but very slow.

Although, I do like the artistic side of tattoos I wouldn’t have one although it is tempting to have a sleeve. Reasons being religious. They’re haraam and permanent therefore I wouldn’t.
But if you did decide to get one I would hope it had some meaning and not some generic crap.

yes, i have 2 TaTToos…i transport my GS guests from the airport to their guest houses.
