Bhai, players have to try. Sharma made 24 runs in 12 balls because he did took calculated risk, else he could have made only 10 runs in 12 balls and that would meant more pressure on team. He knew that India have many good batsmen to follow, so why worry taking calculated risk. That is different matter that he got out in process.
It is like Shahid Afridi taking risk, but since his batting is not of quality, he has very low batting average, he gets out more often than passing 10 runs.
