^ Two yellows means a red card. So he couldnt have.
England won thanks to an own goal. They started really well but very lacklustre in the second half with only two Lampard efforts to show. Joe Cole was superb though. If England need to win this cup they need to be more extravagant and not just sit on the lead which they did in this match. Anyways three points count and that matters.

^^ no he didn't. he only got 1. second one would've meant a red card and a suspension.
1-0 win to england..but very unconvincing. i expected england to play attacking football with their midfield being so strong. but they just wanted to hang in there for the win..

Paraguay played a lot better in the second half, but England's defence just seemed too strong for them. Also, it only seemed like very few of the Paraguay players were actually making an effort to score.

Wake up call for England. Despite the win the performance especiallyin the second half was below par . Against better opposition England will struggle based on today's display.

Yeah to add to what Saby sid, england's 2nd half performance was poor, be it they got the result.
I just could not understand the reason for owen's substitution, after his departure from the field as an attacking force england were a no show, oh well 3 points in the bag, must do better thou.
Be it Paraguay didn't really do much with the ball despite having more of the possession.

If England play like the way they did against Paraguay especially in the second half then then they are in for problems.

Agreed. They lucked out this game since the only way they scored was cause one of the Paraguay team players hit the ball into their own net. They couldn’t score after that.
Do they have enough luck to get them to the finals? It will run out soon unless they step up in the game.

I missed the stupid match and by the sound of it I guess I didnt miss much. Shameful that England did not manage to score any goals of their own. Ullu de pattay.
