Big blunder by Englands defence let in the second goal by Sweden. England tops the group and avoids German in the next round. They will have to play much better to get any further.

What a disappointing second half by England. 
I tell you with all the big names and low technique they don’t deserve to be in quarter finals, let alone winning a world cup in the presence of Brazil, Argentina and Portugal.

It was a game of two halves. First half it was all england and second half it was sweden.
Now we know why Campbell isnt in the starting eleven :p

Problem is not with their technial or non-technical players. Problem is negativity of their manager. They have enough technical quality in Cole, Gerrard and Rooney but they are not utilized with the flair when they play for their clubs.

You know England’s defence is supposed to be their best bet 
and today it didnt look like so. Campbell is not a solid defender anymore and I am not sure why Rio Ferdinand was replaced.

Its easy to blame Campbell for that missed goal save, but you know Terry and Robinson were also within the close proximity of that cuckoo shot :D

Agreed. But even if it is 2nd defence it was very lousy any better team will punish them hard if they repeat this mistake. Swede were unlucky to not score more and 2 hit bounced back from pole.

Rio took a knock and was taken off as a precaution. He’ll be back to partner Terry for the last 16 with whom he has a very good parternship with and notably he’s a lot quicker than both him and Sol.
However England’s set piece defending was atrocious. They should have had someone big like Sol Campbell at the near post but instead they opted for, out of all the peope, David Beckham. Schoolboy stuff 
Stevie G saved our backsides once again but repeat these mistakes again and it’ll be curtains.
Nonetheless we got the result needed and avoided Germany in the next phase. Bring on Ecuador.
