Thank you brother Laeeq for sharing. Is it true that a woman’s worth is only 1/4th of that of a man in court? While a man can have 4 women, why does a woman have to live with the same prick for the rest of her life? I think Islam is not the religion for women (at least from what you guys are making it look like in terms of womens’ rights, etc.).
Madhanee, why is polyandry not allowed? So that we won't have to live with 4 different pricks for the rest of our lives, that's why. It's hard enough to deal with one man, let alone four. And although they like to ignore it, it goes the same for polygamous men. Another thing-- when we get pregnant we won't have to wait 9 months to find out who the baby's daddy is. I doubt any decent woman would want to go on a talk show to find out who fathered her child because she was too stupid to keep her legs closed or use a condom.
And with regards to quoting verses from the Quran and hadith, stop whining. The status of women in Islam cannot be changed. Rather, it is our screwed up and perverted culture that gives it such a bad name. Granted I'm not perfect and I don't follow everything exactly, but there's always hope. If you don't like how Muslim women are treated by their community, by their governments, by their families etc, that's one thing. But if you don't like how women are asked to behave in the Quran, and have a problem when someone tries to remind you, then stop complaining.
Islam is perfect. Muslims are not.

I do not see where it says you MUST wear burqua (not that there is anything wrong with it ) and that too when it is enforced, rather than an act of free will.
You have responsibility over your women folk, not rights over them , neither are u their moral saviours.

I think this is the Quranic verse that applies most here.
