I think we’ve all come across types of people that will compliment you on your face and talk about you behind your back. It’s part of life for most people to encounter such people.

^True. But then again, we’ve all been fake from time to time (some more than others…without much awareness or regard). For example, thanking someone for a gift that you don’t like.

But doesn't that also imply "degrees" of fakeness. If someone gifts me something I don't like, what is the right thing to do: lie and say thank you - unkay dil rakhnay kay liyay or be rude and tell them it's ugly? Doesn't intent also play a part behind how we perceive another's fakeness?

With a gift, I like to think it’s the thought that counts, but then I know this family that is notorious for regifting things Yes, intent has a lot to do with it. And yes, we all display a level of fakeness because that’s how society functions. Haven’t you seen "Liar “Liar”?

It's still fake...but the intentions are in the right place. I brought up the gift example to show that not only are we all fake from time to time....sometimes it's necessary.
