Sharapova is playing now. The quality of tennis is extremely poor as well. Just for political correctness, WTA has to arrange all these tournys for women that no one really watches for the game itself. :D

I would have to agree with Li, the quality of tennis b/w sharappova and Mauresmo was terrible. Damn Mauresmo looks like a total guy (i bet she takes steroids).

its quite annoying to listen to for people watching on t.v..i can't imagine how annoying and distracting it must be for sharpovas opponents..i think the referees in tennis should stop this non-sense..its obviously an attempt to distract your opponent and piss them off.
the more sharpova grunted today the more i wanted her to lose,thank god she lost in the end.

They probably grunt to add some more force into their volleying. A lot of male tennis players do too but every female player does it. It's funny cuz the entire stadium could hear them grunt.
