Hmm…From your reference, one of the sons of Hazrat Ali (r.a) was named Umar and one was named Usman. Which means generally shias shouldn’t have any problem in keeping these names for their children ?!

I personally dont think their is anything wrong with the name yazid… I think there is a riwayat in usool-e-kafi where one of lovers of Imam Jafar Sadiq a.s was named Yazeed. A guy can have a name Ali Shair Haidri but whats the use if he is head of sipah shaba ?

So am good with all names.

I also wana add that i have met Sunni guys with Names… Hussain Ali, Hassan, Umar Abbas, Sajjad, Zain ul abdeen, Talib, Darbar Ali, Kosar. 1 reason wud be i have alot of Sunni syeds in my village and they have names like this. Indeed most of the names i mentioned are the sunni syeds from my village beside Umar abbas(he was a class fellow).
