I think I have posted this before but here it goes again. If rice get a bit gooey/soft use a kitchen towel or better paper towel for dum. Cover rice with paper towels, put lid on and let it stay on dum. When the paper towels gets well damp, replace with new dry ones. It helps get rid of extra moisture from rice.
Then when rice is done take it out in a wide flat dish/tray whatever you have. Don’t stir it too much or it’ll break.

Another tip is to run it in microwave for a few minutes.

yeah..this is wht i was told wen i asked…luckily uptil now i hvnt had to face a situation where rice got mushy…

There is a scientific reason behind it. Can you guess what ?

As for rice why don’t you put right amount of water before hand and the rice will never get mushy. guaranteed.

umm…tha ata soaks the extra salt i guess
