Re: WINNER | Love Letter Competition
Jolie, the issue here is not peoples' curiosity to know the name behind the words. Like I said in my post earlier, given the nature of this competition, it is understandable why certain participants might want to remain anonymous. The issue is one of fairness. **It's like you entering a talent show competition. You go on stage to perform but when it's others' turn they hide behind the curtains **for whatever reasons and the judges allow that. My issue is not so much with the participants, but more so with the handlers. To be honest, after this little stunt, I feel rather exposed. I didnt like the surprise element after the fact. It's easy for you as a spectator to comment that people are being too sensitive. It's not just one person protesting here, right? Something must be amiss.
….Except this not a stage show, where you must see the faces on display! It’s a writing challenge where writing is the real star of the competition. The analogy of ‘participants’ hiding behind the curtains is simply misleading and irrelevant in this case. The participant are taking part in the competition, submitting their entries and allowing their entries to be put on public display. It’s a fair play and all this cannot possibly be equated with hiding behind the curtains. The handlers, as far as I can tell, did not mend any rules, out of decency and courtesy, the respected participants’ wish to remain anonymous throughout. Most people who are protesting weren’t aware of this possibility and that’s fine, now they certainly know.
If this competition is genuinely about writing, I see no reason why all the focus and protest should be directed at finding out writers’ identity? What difference does it make? I appreciate the curiosity, but it shouldn’t be an issue.
Re: WINNER | Love Letter Competition
oaeyh han fariha winner

Re: WINNER | Love Letter Competition
Of course, why not. I was just warming up to the idea, and I hope when I do write, it is indeed all about my 'writing.
I urge Muqawwee and Mahool to go with the next Manzar Kashi schedule as normal, and readers to participate in the competition without any pressure. And hopefully, you’ll guys will see my wild card entry soon.
PS. Congratulations to Fariha Ali. :k:
