You can get old IE back. I did by selecting the option ‘open in old internet explorer’ and then pinned that on the task bar.

I don’t like the childish bright colors and obtuse settings for Windows 10. They doubled down on 8.1, but what they should have done is gone back to Windows 7 and then added the tiles to the old start menu. All in all, I won’t be upgrading my 17 incher to this windows version. Look at the incremental changes of OS X.

To be fair, I am a criticizer of every quirk. I might have gotten used to it now, but I still miss the more mature look and color scheme of iOS 6 instead of bright whites, yellows and blues from iOS 7 on. It seems that the user base for all the windows and iOS are my five year old nephews.

That’s the first thing I removed. It looked ugly. Why do you hate firefox?

I was getting lag with 8.1, 10 has smoothed my laptop up.

Cuz of all the recently frequented webpages that shows up. What if I recently frequent pages that aren’t meant to be seen by others? You know…like top secret stuff!

8.1 was smooth for me. This lags.

I used to think the same, till it started crashing all the time,because of some faulty plugins. So yeah for me chrome is the best

So, has anyone gotten stuck in the upgrade process?

I was upgrading or the upgrade downloaded itself to Windows 10 pro and the screen got stuck at 35% (12% of installing features and settings) for more than an hour. I force restarted the computer and it got restored to Win 7 again.

Has anyone have had that experience?

I guess that I'll be staying with Win 7 on that computer as Win7 support runs until 2020. We'll see what linux to put in if the computer is chugging along at that point.
