Aur ek Gayle Chakka (GC)
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
Chigumbura bowls 5 wides in 5 deliveries in the 41st over.
18 runs off the over!
Gayle hits 10th SIX...what a way to regain his form against an associate team. lolz.
‘Death Bowlers’ are ‘Half Dead’ themselves…no power!
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
**Gayle surpasses his own highest score...
...2nd Highest run partnership ever in ODI's
Gayles hits 13th SIX.
21 off the over! **
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
Gayles is all over Zimbabwens...
Gayle hits his 15th SIX...1 away from most SIXES in ODI's
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
**Gayle EQUALS most SIXES in any ODI's...hits 16th SIX
Gayle 200...he is the FIRST non-INDIAN to hit a Double Century in ODI's :)
ONLY Indians have hit double centuries in ODI's ... wow! :)
***45.5*
Chatara to Gayle, FOUR, and Gayle makes World Cup history to become the first non-Indian to score an **ODI double hundred. His first 100 was workmanlike, his second 100 was calculated bludgeoning at its finest. Can he keep it going further?**
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
47.5
Chatara to Samuels, 1 run, and they usurp the old record by Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in 1999 to establish a new mark for the highest partnership for any ODI wicket
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
Gayle is finally OUT trying to get his 17th SIX.
49.6
Masakadza to Gayle, OUT, and he tries to go for the sixes record with a powerful bludgeon down the ground as he ends up top-edging a catch high to midwicket, which is taken safely in the end
**CH Gayle c Chigumbura b Masakadza 215 (212m 147b 10x4 16x6) SR: 146.25
***so, Zimbabwe will need 373 runs to WIN the game which is rather impossible.*
Gayle could NOT hit his 17th SIX to break the record for max SIXES in an ODI held by **Rohit Sharma and Abraham Benjamin deVilliers.
***Chris Gayle: Getting a bit of cramps, but feeling a bit tired. We still have 50 overs to get through. I didn't want to be out with the first ball. I said "you can't be serious?" I just want to thank god for this knock. I was under pressure to score runs, and I kept getting messages from twitter and on my cell phone. I have never felt this kind of pressure, but in the end, I am sure I gave them something to talk about. It was a bit slow at the start, not to mention keeping it low. I just tried to take the bull by the horns and hang out there and try and build an innings. After a while I was able to pick a bowler to target and then, in the end, I was out off the last ball (chuckles). A lot of time people don't know what you are going through as I had some issues with injuries. I am also not getting any younger so age is definitely catching up on me. Overall I am really happy, and I just want to try and build on this as much as possible. Want to build on this momentum and move ahead as we look towards the South Africa game. It was a bit easier to bat later on. I am very happy to get this first double hundred and ever since Rohit got two, I have been hounded to get one as well.*
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
Praying this match gets washed out, could be a huge advantage to Pakistan if it is.
Would mean WI would have to beat India or South Africa to advance (Im giving WI a gimme win over UAE) to advance. But if they lose to both India and South Africa, it will leave them with 5 points. Then, if Pakistan can beat Zimbabwe, UAE, and Ireland we would have 6 points. And frankly if this scenario does play out and we can't beat those 3 teams, we have no business being there.
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
Darn, match has resumed :-/

Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
The way Zimbabwe have batted so far, Pakistan is already under pressure...
oh yes ....
Look at their RR .... even with losing Wickets at regular interval they are playing positive cricket and keep scoring at almost 7rpo ..... when was the last time PAK maintained a RR of 7 for longer period despite losing wickets???
Yeah, after watching Zimbabwe putting up such a brave fight, I think Pakistan will have their hands full if they play at the level they have been at this WC
Re: WI v/s Zim at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015
**8 Wickets down
Zimbabwe RR 6.54**
