Sri Lanka does make a great case with Murli, Vaas, Jaysuria and Sangakara. These players need to perform on top level for Sri Lanka to be in the final and win it. Altough, Australia still looks very strong on paper and field.

I believe they can go all the way. Most supporters are not disheartened by their loss to Aus in the first round. The (almost) fluke run-out of AB de Villiers and the upsetting of the tempo with Smith's cramps are taken as excuses. Untill Smith's cramps even Ponting was looking VERY worried.

We do have a problem with our late batsmen (Kemp Pollock Hall) in that none of them had a good bat in the last about 8 games. That might be detrimental. Just look at how Symonds underperform in his comeback.

We also have a problem with bowling variation. Peterson is at best a second class spin bowler and the team selection committee knows it. He was added to fill the quota of non-white players. We have at least 3-4 better spin bowlers at home but all are white.

Kallis did bat slow in that game but I expect him to up his rate now.

Players wise (no injuries) I think only South Africa CAN contain the Aussies (depending on the Proteas mental state relative to Aussies).
