Hail, my lord! Wearing a burka is more important than humanity. No wonder the wonderfulness of Islam is lost on most people!
i hv nt used the word burkah...OMG........lolzzzzzzzzz.............there is smething between a noble n proper dress n a burkah...a proper dress could b jeans also for example....anyway the topic is not abut dressing.......lolllzzzzzzzzzz
I think what horizon is trying to say here is that while blood donations are good and rewarding, they are not a compulsion like other things in Islam. Donating blood depends on your personal preference.

n look many n so many ppl in our country n in all over the world strive badly then y dont we provide food to them?their number is much higher than the number of those who need blood...1st thing is to understand the basic resposibilities in our society..blood donation is a deeper n deeper part of those responsibilities..it is really easy to get blod for a needy person but not easy for all those helpless ppl who r in need of food, cloths, books,n even shelter...or moral values dat r diminishing.....so dats y blood donation is not compulsion actually..
haha Nisha that's what I thought too, when they took my blood for testing it was just tiny prick with the injection and I thought hey this isn't so bad. But when they called me in for the blood the needle was way thicker and it definitely wasn't just a pinch! As for the common blood types I always thought it had to be B+, everyone in my extended family and a lot of other people I know have the same type. I just did a search on google and it seems you're right, B+ is not the most common but its still pretty common :p
i've been donating to the red cross since i was in high school and it didn't hurt one bit. it feels so good afterwards knowing that that blood will help save a life. atleast i tell that to myself to make me feel special about my very very common blood type....

LOL yeah eh. when i went to donate the second time around, i didn't remmeber how big the needle was. but then i saw it and i was like wtf? it's HUGE! and it hurt :( the worst part was, apparently my blood had "dried" cuz i had my coffee in the morning, like i ALWAYS do, and hte nurse was so mad at me :( half a bag wasted cuz more blood wasn't coming out. ah well.
