Re: Why Was Salman Taseer buried in a Casket?
I don't think its unislamic to be burred in casket. Also, in many cases its required by local laws/ordinances to burred dead in caskets to make sure that ground water doesn't get contaminated from decomposing bodies.
**
i know its NOT unislamic...its a tradition though. in the western world u have to put in the wooden box with plastic sheet around the body but its never fancy, its always basic wooden box. its NOT even painted.
**
Do you have a picture or video showing they lowering his casket in grave? If not you have just spoken too soon. Its common practice in some places to bring the body in casket up to grave and then pull the body out.
**
yes bro, i did see the casket being lowerd and then those concreete slabs put on the ledges of the grave and then covered with dirt. sorry, i do NOT have the video but i saw it on Geo News Clips. u may be able to find it on u-tube.**
Was not Zia also buried (at least taken to his Grave) in a casket. I think Casket if more of an official protocol. Maybe at the end they take the body out and burial happens like a normal Muslim burial.
idk...it saw the body in the casket being lowed in the grave.
Dont worry - Munkir NaakiR know how to open the casket :)

lol...i remember in india muslims measure the dead person from the hip to the head so they dig deep enuf grave for the body to sit up during the "question answer session" with Munkin Nakeerai'n.**
may be the condition of body was not such that it could be shown. there is not much pretty left after 26 bullets
it doesn't matter cos the body wid be covered/wrapped with shroud.
