I don’t think having different standards for different countries falls under hypocricy. Hypocracy to me is saying that what someone is doing is wrong while doing the same wrong thing and making excuses for yourself. Example: I’ll see a hijabi making out with her boyfriend and tell her what she’s doing wrong and later on ill do the exact same thing but say to myself “well I"M not a hijabi so I dont have to represent Islam” or some other lame excuse like that. That’s hypocricy. New york and lahore are two different worlds to me, and what’s acceptable here is most definitely NOT acceptable there and vice versa. It’s about more or less adapting to your surroundings while remaining true to yourself. Doesn’t mean that if everyone around you is walking around naked, then you should do the same if u don’t feel that it is right. Like me, I don’t think that dressing a certain way is right, and I’ll abide by those beliefs wehrever I am. I hope I was coherent enuff coz im rambling on and on

*its not about whose responisbility it is to control oneself, what we should understand that the ubderlying factor is that it is a command of Allah hence we should hear and obey! *

*a muslim is one who obeys and submits to the will and commandements of Allah so we should not question his commandements as Allah is all knowing and has all knowledge and knows what is best. we should put our yaqeen in Allah and follow the quran and the way of our beloved nabi (Allah bless him and give him peace) and the ways of our sahaba and sahabe. *
i do agree though that men should control themselves they should "lower their gaze" and observe their hijab, they shouldnt wear tight clothes which emphasises areas that is fard upon them too, i wear hijab and jilbab and sadly i still get perverts who stare and say things or they will say salaam or mashallah with a nasty pervy gaze and you just think have you no shame?

They gawp even harder when they see someone wearing a hijab or jilbab. “What u hiding under there”, " give us a flash", “u must be haawwtt”. So basically for some it dont matter what you are wearing, they will still be bekhuda.

no I dont think thats true…if I catch someone looking at me (im talking about white guys here)…then I’ll look once…they’ll think “wow she likes me” and then I look away or pretend im doing something else or start talking to some1 else and it totally puts them off.

^ the prb is.. my college is full of muslim ppl and i felt since im muslim.. hey i should wear it and i get all this respect from ppl.. i just feel i could follow the rules where i can... den i wear it most of the time i go out..
per at work.. ppl are so predijice so i took it off.. i dont know.. i m a bad muslim.. and sometimes ghar per jo parties hoti hain.. i dont tihnk about it.. and just walk around naked head infront of million ppl!

ofcourse i do it for Allah..but i think i learned it from them.... they remind me of my identity.. i just use to not tihnk about it and i hope i could do it more often

its not hard to do…I dont see the big deal to be honest…
you dont have to wear it at parties if its only girls there…I go to many parties with only girls and we take it off when we get there…
hijab is really easy I think

WHen you are up against all prejudice, standing alone in Hijaab...knowing that Allah is watching,...he knows what you're going through...I don't think ANY other feeling can over come that!

i know wot u mean…bes thing to do is dont even bother talking to guys…I mean I had to do a practical session with this guy at uni…cuz all my friends were in other groups and he asked if he can work with me. I said ok…anyway then later we had to meet and I took my friend with me…he also brought his friend. anyways…I just said salam to his friend…thats it.
now his friend thinks he automatically got the right to act stupid. I mean EVERY time I go past him, he says both my names…when I look to ask what he wants…he just smiles…or sometimes says salam 
its getting annoying now so I totally blank him or dont even look at him but he still does it 
idiot guys. he should get the message that he’s not my type
