I agree. Dividing Iraq and Kuwait such that the west controlled Kuwait oil is an example of the division that led to Kuwait invasion in 91. Which led to Gulf wars.
The us and ussr backing led to decades of Iraq Iran war.
I am only stating the obvious. There have been external actors that have done damage.
