There were also afridis who on instigation of afghans revolted against Pakistan, hence PAF in its nascent strength couldn’t be fully deployed to kashmir. I think that that PAF unit was much decorated for their performance against these actors and were the last ones to convert to jets.

Coming to daud khan, PAF bombed afghanistan due to his misadventures in early sixties leading to his dismissal by his cousin King Zahir Shah.

Actually few planes were used on bombing the afridi jirga. The houses of those afridi malaks were demolished according to FCR…no clashes or any sort of insurgency took place in khyber agency, afridis didnt persue pashtunistan after this incident.

And Pak army didnt use air force and ground troops in kashmir and instead forwarded pashtun tribesmen so that they have the stance that pakistani state didn’t invade kashmir and so that indian army stays away from the conflict…but unexpectedly maharaja invited indian army for help
