My thoughts have been wondering. How come the new resolution on Iraq suddenly succeeded the day after the elections last Tuesday. Political ploy? A game? Why?
What was our President doing out canvassing for votes, when he should have been doing the job the American People pay him to do.

You are certainly missing the most obvious answers to your question. The new resolution succeeded quickly and unanimously one day after the election precisely because of the outcome of the election. Many foreign governments were hearing the siren call of the Liberal Democrats thinking that (hoping that??) it represented the voice of the American people. They've watched the Democratic controlled Senate effectively gridlock an awful lot of the business of government and knew that a Democratic controlled Senate and House could easily thwart George W from implementing his agenda: both foreign and domestic. Particularly France understood that a unilateral or US led attack against Iraq outside the auspices of the UN would be less likely with a Democratic majority in Congress.
Surprise everyone. The American people spoke pretty resoundingly in this election giving the President and the GOP a victory that is unprecedented in off-year elections. Iraq, Al Qaeda, the war on terror and homeland defense were right at the top of the GOP agenda. The increased power of the President and the public support for his agenda translated into the quick victory in the UN.
As to why Bush hit the campaign trail to talk to the American people instead of sitting in the White House talking to himself, well "duh." The election results and the UN action give a pretty good clue don't you think? Now instead of having two more years of gridlock and political infighting, GW can look forward to implementing his agenda and policies. I think it is pretty safe to say that "you aint seen nothing yet."
The BIG Picture tells me that this is all about OIL!
The Bush's and all the OLD GUARD are still trying to make sure their pockets and their grandchildren's pockets are full of money. Nothing Moral about that.
The Deaths and the Suffering at their Greed is Discraceful.
I don't beleave that a foreign power was at the root of 911 and I don't beleave that there is any other way to look at this than is obvious.
It does anger me though to be lumped together as some are doing.
American's are not all the same, anymore than all the Muslims.
I would appreciate some of you calling each other on this when you see it. This will go a long way towards keeping those who know the truth from disliking you for your prejudice.
