Re: “Why PPP will win the elections again” (some bitter realities)
I agree that PPP will win again, but my reasons are different from what you have given.
Main reason is that** PPP has a guaranteed place in interior Sindh among Sindhi speakers because of Bhutto, and PPP also has similar guaranteed place in Siraiki belt among Siraiki speakers** because they consider themselves different from Punjabis of North (who overwhelmingly support PMLN).
So there you go. PPP will win due to nationalism among Sindhis and Siraiki people. These two communities together have more votes than Norther Punjab, and hence PPP will win.
Stretching the same reason. **Punjabi vote bank is divided **between PMLN, PMLQ, and now probably PTI. But PPP vote bank among Sindhis and Siraikis is not divided.
Then there is class difference. PPP is basically a party of agricultural landlords. Other parties like PMLN, PMLQ are the same, but PPP is more so (because it belongs to Sindhis and Siraikis who are primarily agriculturalists).
Landlords, no matter from where, want to keep the status quo and PPP guarantees it to them. So these landlords make sure that peasants under them vote for PPP, thus ensuring their own hold on people and their fortune.
What it means is that PPP (and others) will continue to win one election after another, based on their respective nationalistic vote bank, instead of actually doing anything for the good of the people they represent.
**This scenario is very depressing for the future of the country. **
