Its the one thing women look forward to all their lives. Only fair if they do. Besides, If it was on us careless men or much rather me, I'm sure a lot of my distant family members won't get to know about my marriage.
A chottee khushi for us, could well be a huge khushi for them. We won't know.

Sisters and brother?, I wasn't being a sexist, nor was I judging anyone. It was a general statement, not aimed at anyone specific.
It has nothing to do with Mullahs or Imams, but the reality is that Allah SWT has told women to cover themselves in front of non-mahram men. This is clear in the Quran itself.
As for men, the awrah of men is different from that of women. However, the command to lower your gaze applies to both gender. That's why we should have segregated gathering always. It goes both ways.

My intention wasn't to look down upon anyone. And, it's not about being judgmental, but more about enjoining good and forbidding evil.
Rasulullah SAW told people to stop burying their infant daughters, stop having haram intimacy, stop worshiping false gods, etc. Can we say the same thing to him? "Unki marzi" No, of course not.
When someone is doing something wrong, then it's our duty to correct them. It's not meant to be taken as judging others.
