Since Zia’s time, we have had a proliferation of jihadi tanzeems of all kinds all over Pakistan. For a young man confused about his life or frustrated with lack of jobs etc. it is easy to join jihadi groups and be someone important.
The long-term state encouragement for militancy and jihad plus a lack of economic progress makes us the lethal combination, sadly.
