MQM tried its utmost best to get into a confrontation with PTI at very last minute. Despite a very anti PTI rally led by MQM supporters (or as they called ‘civil society’) PTI’s all night rally saw a massive participation. At the end, Altaf Hussain was reduced to welcoming PTI because his tactics failed to provoke PTI’s top leadership and create an air of fear and terror in Karachi to stop people from coming out.
Things have changed, PTI is not ANP which is only there to appeal to certain ethnic group, and MQM cannot play the ethnic card when it comes to controlling the bourgeois of Karachi. Divide and rule politics has destroyed Karachi. Those people have had enough.
