Why is the dictator still sitting in the army house

Re: Why is the dictator still sitting in the army house

I'm not sure what the legal position can be based on the Army Rules/Law, but I think when an officer retires he stays on an active reserve list for atleast a year. That's one thing that keeps a retired officers connection with the service LIVE for some time after retirement, also, there may be room under Army Rules for special consideration for officers who present a request to retain their official residence for some time, of course not ever officer gets the permission, case to case many might at all ranks. I'm not sure if there is any such relaxation but I feel that Army rules might allow such relaxations on special cases. If there is room for such a thing and the Army and its leadership is consenting, there should be no fuss.

Haris, when the COAS retires, he cant even spend an additional day in the army house. When Zia died, his family wanted to stay for a while, but they were asked to leave as well. So hence, there are no such laws, and hence there is a fuss, hence you have retd top brass complaining about it, hence you have lawsuits emerging, and hence you have musharraf making a bleak announcement that he will now leave in July.
