Most people would realise he is saying a lot of true things.

But misplaced and often juvenile ‘patriotism’ leads other to shout otherwise.

With nuclear weapons, Pakistan no longer has any reason to feel insecure about being overrun by a larger Indian conventional force. For the U.S. to continue supplying a Pakistani military that is much larger than the country can afford will only invigorate Pakistani militancy and militarism at the expense of its 200 million people, one-third of whom continue to live at less than a dollar a day per household.

so 5 years ago Pakistan did not have nukes? As posted by Ali_Syed above following is excerpt from 5 years ago when he was ambassador:

““I have been ambassador here for two years, and all I have to show for it is eight secondhand Mi-17 transport helicopters for a war that requires helicopters to root out al Qaeda and the Taliban,” Pakistan’s ambassador to Washington, Husain Haqqani, said in an interview with The Washington Times.The ambassador said, “Military operations would have been quicker and much easier to plan and execute if we had the equipment. We have had tremendous attrition and a lot of loss of lives because of not having the right equipment.”
