Re: Why India Became a Democracy and Pakistan Did not
The long and short of it is, in my considered opinion, when we won freedom we had leaders with integrity. I am sorry to say this but I don't think Pakistan had that privilege.
Ofcourse it is another story that present day 'leaders' ...makes that 'dealers' ....of India have no integrity whatsoever.
If we did not Mahathma, Sardar Patel, Nehruji as well as some of the world's best jurists we would probably have had similar problems. Thank God the Gods were and are on our side.

lol, you're making it sound like India is so great and that it is the best place to be in. India is a worse mess than Pakistan, the only difference is that due to its vast size, disruptions remain fairly well hidden (except Kashmir ofcourse). But seriously Indians over all live in a poorer state than in Pakistan, basic commodities are more expensive in India than in Pakistan, people in India actually starve to death, whereas that is unheard of in Pakistan, The street sides of Delhi, Mumbai at night can be seen with homeless people sleeping on them, whereas you do not see that in Islamabad or Lahore.
Corruption in India is rife, just as it is in Pakistan and sorry to say this but most of India's leaders have been just as bad as Pakistan's leaders. May I also remind you that India was also close to bankruptcy in the early 1990s just as Pakistan was.
Sorry to say this but India isnt exactly all hunky dory as you're trying to make it sound like.
Now please explain to me which "Gods" are these of yours that have been on your side more so than in Pakistan's side. I'm of the opinion that both countries are God forsaken, you only need to look at both their current states. Look at China and see how far they've gotten, India today is no way near to where China was in 1998, and Oh and by the way .... they're communist and Godless!(not that I'm advocating atheism or communism) just my 2p.
