“Ya Shaikh! Why do women cry so easily?”

The Shaikh answered:

“When Allah made the woman she had to be special.

He made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.

He gave an inner strength to endure both childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

He gave her a toughness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

He gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child hurts her badly.

He gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

He gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfaltering.

And lastly, He gave her a tear. This is hers and only hers exclusively to use whenever she needs it. She needs no reason, no explanation, it’s hers.

You see my son, the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the beauty of her face, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart – the place where love resides.”

If she had been truthful, we did not have to go through this long story.

Why didn’t she just say she was peeling onions.

I’ve read that story many times, and still I don’t understand it. Is the Sheikh trying to say Allah gave women tears to lower her pain? Hunh? because I find that pretty stupid. Its the circumstances humans create for a women that she cries, not something Allah gave her as a gift.

Someone clear this out for me. I’m a confused soul.

:)well in the story the boy is asking his mother, mother do cry much easily compare to father, fathers are strong by heart and in all other aspect:bb:. They act as shield for the family, mothers are like heart of the family:bulbuli:, she can feel her child pain and happiness more than anyone means she has double feelings than compared to father and she is quite sensitive, she not only cry when she is sad but also cries when she is happy, tear is not just to lower her pain. Its really hard to explain cause it happens on its own. Mother have no control over it. Its like when she is not able to share her feelings on her own God makes a drop of tear fell out of her eyes so others could get idea about her feeling, but to understand it completely, is really not possible, mothers are pure form of love and love cant be define it can only be felt and in those tears there is nothing but love and prays and i think this is case of not just mother, all women cry with the same reason. :halo:

OK somewhat serious comment would be that women by virtue of being more sensitive help keep balance in married life. In general, men have to be less sensitive in order to make some other decisions.

The story is basically meant to boost women’s ego by telling them, yeah the world doesn’t understand women and she has all the right to cry for no reason sometimes.

Lots of them you will find in “Chicken Soup for the Soul” kind of books.

The story is basically meant to boost women’s ego by telling them, yeah the world doesn’t understand women and she has all the right to cry for no reason sometimes.

. .i guess talking is the primary way of sharing feelings. .and women do use that facility amply. .so when they talk and cry at the same time, isn’t that oversharing and disproportionate use of force??

nope. . that happens only in a negligible fraction of cases. .:nono: they use it as a surprise weapon. .when every logic fails, the tap is turned on unexpectedly. .
jst accept it. .women are programmed to cry and men are supposed to melt and feel like worms by that. .there’s no solid logic, reasoning or science behind it. .

of course, mothers are totally out of discussion. .the love for their children is the most fundamental reason for existence of lyf in this universe.. .i had more of the girlfriend-friend situation in mind. .
