Re: Why do we criticise our people so much?
I absolutely agree with the OP. We have become so negative because all we do is pick on the negatives of our people. That’s all we see.
We don’t see what a blessing it is to not be kicked out of the house after you turn 18 and to stay with your parents and repay them for their kindness and attention we have received all our lives.
We don’t see how its so good to not take an appointment to have dinner with our family every night.
We don’t see how we are brought up to give so much respect to our parents and elders.
We don’t see how our mothers hold us above everything else (their careers, social life, even sometimes their own well-being) to make sure her child is happy and getting only the best.
How people just can’t mind their own business when they see an accident or a person having trouble with their car on the road. These smelly stinky illiterate jahil people who would push your car when it breaks down in the middle of the road w/t feeling ashamed or embarrassed or even expecting anything in return.

I've lived in both kinds of societies actually, so no I don't consider these generalizations.
Even if they are, they aren't as crap as the ones you have about people living in Pakistan, oh God's gift to earth.
