For all the noise about Amreeka's interference in Pakistan's affairs, Saudi Arabia is equally involved in Pakistan's internal affairs. As I see it, the last election had Benazir as the American agent and Nawaz as the agent for Saudi Arabia. Both US and KSA have invested large amount of money and have bought loyal supporters in Pakistan to pursue their agendas.
