why do rich women...

Re: why do rich women...

well the "rules" for c-section have loopholes big enough to sail the queen mary thru them! "Stalled Labor" is one, "distress" is another. Labor can be considered "stalled" at any time. Baby's heart rate takes dips even in normal conditions. So that leaves the docs with a very wide field of discretion, too wide in my opinion. Ladies can push for c-section and it will in most cases be granted, rich or not. Most docs leave it up to the Mom.

Re: why do rich women...

Why do you think it's only rich women that have c-sxns? Really ....is this pakistani thing?

There are such things as elective c-sxns but few women do it...and fewer physicians in the US agree.

Re: why do rich women…

Add risks of mother’s uterus rupturing, and other maternal anatomical/health concerns. etc.

Re: why do rich women...

Why would celebs prefer a C-section when it leaves such a scar on the belly?

Re: why do rich women…

wat scar?

Re: why do rich women...

I think it depends on woman and baby's situation at the time of delivery.
I was in labor for 2 days and then had c-sec because of baby's condition.
Believe me its not an easy way out. Its the most difficult time of your life. You can't take care of the baby and it hurts bad for 2 weeks. healing process is very slow.
All i am trying to say is not an easy way out and i don't know any one who choose c-sec because they wanted it. Either way woman suffer, in normal delivery before the birth and in c-sec after the birth.

Re: why do rich women...

The place where they sew you together.

Re: why do rich women...

exactly, wat scar?

Re: why do rich women...

the scar from a c-section these days runs along the hair-line of the pubis and is really not noticable once its fully healed.

i do know some women who have pushed this option with their docs and have had their wish granted....these are mostly desi gals ...I think that its easier to persuade a doc over there than it is "over here" but it could just be my limited experience.

Re: why do rich women...

start practising pushing a watermelon out of your nose ...yep that is how much pain you will feel, according to the experienced mothers. Now, are you still convinced you want natural birth.

Re: why do rich women...

I didn't bother reading the whole thread, sorry. I stopped at "rich" women. Who told you rich women have C-sections?

Re: why do rich women…

 :crying: Why! Why!

Oh my Lord, i’m so scared of giving birth…reading this thread is making me literally shake :frowning: Needles in ur spine, blood, pain!! faints
I agree with u Mamaof3 but ur scaring me!
C-sections r not really advised since they r major surgeries. As far as ur figure goes, well my mum had natural births with her first two children and she still looked great. With her third child she had to have a c-section unfortunately…she had a very slow and painful recovery and never lost all that weight. It’s hard enough being a new mother, i can’t imagine being with the baby whilst in stiches etc…and i duno about the rich women and c-section thing, but i think it must be painful either way.

Re: why do rich women...

With our first baby my wife had Cramps for 8 hours before I suggested Epidurel. It took around 16 hours altogether so she was on Epidural for around 8 hours. Natrual brith.

With our second baby, we didn't have time to go to Hospital. I was the mid-wife myself. The mid-wife reached home one hour after the birth. By then I had given the bath to baby. I thank my neighbour who helped my wife after birth, she was a nice woman.

Both children were born in Netherlands, where house births are a norm. Women are taken to the hospitals only when case cannot be handled a home or if there is any kind of risk.

C-Section can reduce the birth pain but it has its own problems, I wont recommed C-Section but only if its really needed.

Yes first child is more painful then rest/second (our experience only).
