There have been yoga classes in Pakistan since ages...
Never heard any maulvi have any objections against it.
Common sense, that even clerics make mistakes. This is obviously one of them. Karate, Kung fu and Tae kwondo is heavily practiced in our watan, it doesnt mean we cope the religious part of the sports as well......
I do yoga, but refrain from saying "ohm". I recite own mantras I need to focus on.
Yup.... But then again, my hindu friends do say salaam aleikum and if I greet their elders, I do say namaste aunt jee.... Its just due to respect. I plan to have yoga classes during my trip to India in Nov. Wouldnt miss it at any cost.... ;-)
I was almost helpless in 2005 regarding my arthritic pain of back, knees, shoulder and neck. The conditions were getting worst. Then I joined a local yoga centre near my home (Karachi) in early 2006. Now all the pain has gone without taking any pills and I can swim for an hour without stopping.
There are two types of yoga - the physical and spiritual - clerics may only oppose the spiritual one.
i dont go into why questionz when it comes to religion. i dont know wat da hell is yoga (for me, understanding comes with feeling, so acknowledging wont necessarily means i know about it, as in this case yoga.)
instead of yoga one better offer his/her prayerz (namaz) …sawab ka sawab, janat ke janat, excersize ke excersize, or farz bhi pora howa
