Its a cultural thing, where grown up adult children dont live with their parents, parents live in separate homes…it has nothing to do with religion…how many christians in pakistan send their parents in old age homes???

Hindu religion has laid down 4 phases (called as ashrams) in a persons life
- Brahmcharya: student life
- Grihasta: houshold life
- Vanaprastha: retired life
- Sanyasa: Renounced life
Strict hindus leave their homes in 4th phase of their life, they become detached from the wordly affairs and spend most of their time praying to God.
Most of the time, they go and live on the banks of Ganges.
Buddhist also follow similar way.
