i think that women are slightly less focused on looks than men. men can be valued for their sense of humour, intelligence etc whereas women's value is much more based on their physical beauty. Women can be attracted to men based on their social power, success in their profession etc women have a desire to respect the man they are with. men don't necessarily have the same need.
