Re: Why Australians are the best At cricket???
The reasons for their success is pretty simple. First of all their domestic structure isn't sifarish based. Second, their selectors aren't dominated by super star culture like our desi teams. Doesn't matter who you are, if you don't perform then you're out of the team. Look at Damien Martyn, he was dropped and kept out for nearly 10 years just for playing one stupid shot. Gillespie, a legend in his own right was ditched after the Ashes. Brett Lee couldn't get his act together he was dropped. Clarke, arguable their best new talent, was dropped after a few failures. Hell, even Steve Waugh who won them the cup and captained the greatest Aussie team ever was sacked.
If there are severe reprecussions for your actions, it's surprising how well a team can perform. :)
I am not spinning but if all what you are saying is true than head should have rolled after the defeat in the ODI. Nothing happened. Gilespie and Waugh were dropped when they were coming to the end of their careers, nothing magic about that. If Martyn was dropped for playing one stupid shot why was Pointing not dropped for losing a match which any other team would have won after posting 400+. There is mostly more to it than meets the eye.
