Re: Why are they called....

"menses", not "mensus".

I think it really is actually a word.

Why are there so many guys in these sorts of threads?

Re: Why are they called....

i wouldn't mind if women discussed with us the symptoms of testicular cancer. It's all educational anyway. I came in because the thread is discussing the etymological roots of the word "period."

Re: Why are they called…

Yes, it is. Latin word ‘mensis’ means month. Menses is plural. So its origin is clear.
Menstrual, menstruation etc. are also derivatives of this word.
Can’t say about ‘period’. Probably, it’s used euphemistically…Time period between two menstrual cycles. ‘Periode’ or ‘periodos’ were the Latin words probably.

Re: Why are they called…

Wow, I didn’t know truck drivers were so well versed on menstruation.

Re: Why are they called....

Pakistani truck drivers are versed on most matters pertaining to female anatomy and sexual physiology.

Can’t speak for trucker community here but my knowledge is purely theoretical. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Re: Why are they called…
