why are there no pakistani christians here?

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

3% is the total non-muslim population, probably equally divided in issais and hanoods.

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

May I know what Hanood means. And by the way We are Christians not Issai. I lived in an Arab countryad the refer to us as either we are called as Masihi or Nasaria as written in the Quraan.

Well there are many Pakistan Christians using the internet from Pakistan as well in the diaspora, but we tend to keep our religious affair private. It should be considered private and respected that way.

As far as the religious diversity of Pakistan is concerned, we have Buddhists, Zoroastrians/Parsis and Hindus as the biggest minority in Sindh itself. We even have Jews in Karachi, they have a beautiful graveyard in downtown Karachi. For more information check out Dawn Newspaper. Just for your enlightenment, the Jews of India/Pakistan have lived in this area even before the birth of Christ.

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

Interesting...

I have met a Shia Khan but never a Christian Khan...Samuel, every Khan I have met has been a Muslim...If you don;t mind my asking, how come your name is Khan? Or is it just an internet handle...

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

Really? Which ones?

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

My Caste is Pathan Mughal ( of Turkic origin, so the Khan in the end)

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

Hanood = Hindus
Yahood = Jews
Issai = Christians (followers of Issa - Jesus)

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

So is Hanood supposed to be a digotary word for Hindus or just another local term for them?

hhmm..Chrisitians are called Issai in S. Asia and in the gulf naa? whats wrong in that??

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

I lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The locals and other arabs never called me Issai, but rather MASIHI. This is an error from the Pakistani Muslims. Its like calling a Muslim a Mohamadeen ( the follower of Muhammed's (PBUH) Din, name coined during the crusades but later out of use now), if I can compare it that way. Masihi means in layman terms (followers of the Messiah ( the Deliverer))

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?

The thread starter forgot about my kind "the skeptics". Anybody knows what is the %ate in Pakistan? I believe there is no athiest is on record in Pakistan for the fear of life.

I know a Khan christian family, very educated family actually.

Re: why are there no pakistani christians here?
