in high school we got a sample of a tampon in our sex ed class and i had absolutely no clue where i was supposed put that thing, i honestly thought i was one of the defective ones looking at how they show them used online and asking my mom about it was too embarrassing, my friend, nickie, who uses them later told me where and how and all that wonderful stuff :D reading online can only do so much

Im the opposite ever since I started using tampons pads just seem disgusting to me.
I am the same too...can't stand pads..first time I used tamps..I was also wondering "what if gets stucks up there???", but I love them...I am not so cranky when I get period now.

I hate tampons and Diva cups cuz at least few times a month I get pts who have the damn things either stuck or “lost” up there …
most either forget/don’t come to the ER promptly enough … n then there is thw whole hoopla with tears and hugs and prolonged internal exams and abx and …
as bad as it sounds for these ladies … TRUST ME … it aint no fun for the person (me!) who is doing the looking/searching/extracting. :gross:
btw … pads only stink if you are not changing them frequently enough …
tampons and pads are supposed to be changed every 4-6 hours … depending on your flow.

LOL, I have never used it but it is more about being environmentally friendly beacuse it is reusable.
Less pads and tampons in landfills.

It can also be very embarrassing for the one who ‘lost’ it in there. And yes it can happen when someone forgets.

Tampons are awesome...one of my friends forced me to try one and Ive never touched a pad since that day.
The diva cup sounds quite uncomfortable and...um...weird.
Playtex makes all different kinds so there are ones where you might not have to double up but they generally feel very strange. Regular plus a liner and then change every two hours on heavy days is perfect.

NO, the bit you pee from is completely separate to where you place your tampon :)

For young girls who are virgins, tampons are considered a very taboo subject, anything that involves insertion to a young girl is disliked, my mother was the same, in fact she was horrified that such an invention had been created!!
My mum used to not like me using them either.. Apart from the not bleeding on the wedding night cr*p and the fact that it's something 'strange' and a bit gross to them in that they never used them growing up I do wonder if some of those desi mums worry that their daughters will become too 'aware' and might start 'experimenting' with guys after using a tampon lol (sounds weird but I mean they might think their daughters mightn't be as shy or nervous about that part of their body)..

Ladies, It takes a lot more than a tiny tampon to break your hymen, especially if you are careful when inserting it. It can happen, but its extremely rare.
Any doctor will tell you the same thing. Anyhow, you should wear what you feel comfortable in

^It would HURT if you're breaking your hymen. In which case, you'd be smart enough to stop. It doesn't hurt to use tampons if you're using them right.
Tampons are so much better than pads! Much cleaner.
I have wondered about the diva cup. It is both environmentally and financially friendly. It is about $40-$45 and lasts you for 2 years easily.
It sounds a little scary but some people who I know use it, really like it.

i know a lot of girls who use the diva cup, in a way its kinda cleaner too because you wash it and don't have to throw away soaked pads and tampons. I just haven't been able to bring myself to put it in yet, but I think if you're not too finnicky about that then it's a great investment.
