Why are men allowed to...

Re: Why are men allowed to...

Why do some people have this urge to blame some religion or other all the time? And then when there own religion does something horrible, they shut up or say it is a small minority. Same people will start ruckus on another religion very next week.

If you are going to generalize like thus how about some more generalization? Ban Christianty because of pedopriests, ban Islam for terrorism, ban Hinduisn for caste....so you let's ban all religions ///happy now?

Re: Why are men allowed to…

Islam received attention only when people strapped bomb to themselves? When are you planning to wakeup? actually you are asleep so your response may not make any sense.

Re: Why are men allowed to…

Where did I bring up Islam Einstein? You’re the one who immediately equated suicide bombing to Islam. It isn’t politically correct to sterotype you know.

Re: Why are men allowed to…

The reason the Prophet (pbuh) married Aisha at such a young age was that so she was able to narrate his life. Many things that have said by her explaining things the Prophet did (commands from Allah(swt)) have been recorded and we use them today as a model for ourselves. I think that’s really disrespectful what you just said about her and I suggest that you not write such things on a forum where the majority are Muslims :bummer:. Just a suggestion.

Re: Why are men allowed to...

First of all, there is significant debate among religious scholars about whether traditional Mormons are practicing christianity. Second of all, the small fundamentalist offshoot that you are referring to has been ostrasized and is not even recognized by the Mormon church.

The FLDS is a cult of whackos practicing a religion all their own. There are estimated to be between 4,000 to 10,000 practicioners. And your point is that NGOs ought to get involved in protecting the women who belong to this cult??? Or is your point that the oppression of these women should be publisized to the same extent that oppression of women occurs among the 1.2 billion worldwide Muslim population?

Re: Why are men allowed to…

Read my post. There’s a reason for why the Prophet (pbuh) married her at such a young age.

Re: Why are men allowed to...

oppression of women occurs among the 1.2 billion worldwide Muslim population

Oppression that is not sanctified by the Quran, and therefore not sanctified by God (as should be the muslim belief).

This abuse does happen, and at alarmingly high rates, but surprise surprise - where is the influence coming from? - from pre-Islamic cultures. For instance, in Pakistan they would be traced back to old Hindu practices. (ex. honor killings).

:)

Re: Why are men allowed to…

Phatima, so young, so innocent :bummer:

Honestly Kaleem I don’t find anything wrong with Christians. I went to a Catholic school for 12 years and never did I encounter any of this BS. Unfortunately you’re being just as bad as those ppl here on this board who take an obscure case and try to bring Islam down. Yes these ppl r sick but cmon our Muslims (out if jaahiliyat) are just as bad: they strap bombs to themselves and kill innocent people, they kill their daughters because they had the misfortune to be raped, they let millions of orphans live w/o families because they think adoption is haram. It’s not fair that you’re saying Christianity is messed up because of these nutcases.

Re: Why are men allowed to...

lol yea I know they say a lot of stuff but it doesn't hurt to tell them. Personally, I feel guilty coming across a post with something like that written in it and not saying anything to let them know that what they've said is wrong.

Re: Why are men allowed to...

^ That's good! :) I hope you don't get frustrated at some of the bullshiit you see and stop trying to correct them. Some people are stubborn and they purposely say this stuff to get others riled up.

Re: Why are men allowed to…

^ Yes they do a hell of a good job at that. But you know what really pisses off people that are being stubborn and disrespecting Islam. When you go “May Allah Guide You :flower2: :sunny:” …heh

haha Allah Hu Akbar

Re: Why are men allowed to...

ok here is some food for thought for our islam-loathing-bible-thumping-xtian guppies:

Did jesus ever marry? if not, then why? was he a homosexual?

Re: Why are men allowed to…

^ You know, that unmarried Jesus is the same Jesus you’d believe in as a muslim…

Re: Why are men allowed to...

^nopes our Hazart Issa is different from christianity's Jesus..same person but signify different things..

Re: Why are men allowed to...

In both religions, he is seen as an unmarried being.

Anyone could ask a muslim the same question.

Re: Why are men allowed to...

anyways my post was directed towards the bible-thumpers who point at Prophet Mohammad's marriages but forget their own Jesus..

Re: Why are men allowed to...

lussi: but he never married :-) our (muslim) beleif tells us that he will marry upon his second coming as he never died.

Re: Why are men allowed to…

abey :smack:…my question was just rhetorical..i dont know the asnwer nor need to know it..i was just throwing some bones towards our islam-loathing resident guppies…

Re: Why are men allowed to...

Dont you people judge car by its driver, if you see someone's driving car badly, who do you blame , car or a driver. same is the case with religion you silly people. there are bad people everywhere. if muslims are doing bad stuff, it doesnt mean islam asks them to do all BS. What else do we follow from islamic principples, do we ever pay heed to what Quran REALLY tells.

Christians do every thing but indirectly in a more civilized manner. if you do some sin in a good manner, you cant justify that sin. SIN IS JUST A SIN whatever way you mould it.

Re: Why are men allowed to…

Mormons! Their architectural sense is amazing. Their church in SLC is quiet an architechure.

AhmedJee, I don’t know how you managed to go inside the church; usually the non-mormons are not allowed.

There are good and bad people in every nationality and religion. One of our professors in the university was from the tableghi jamat. I have not met such a wonderful, kind, knowledgable, religious, devoted person otherwise. I am sure majority of Mormons are great people as well.

However, religions are based on beliefs. If something like this is being taught by their religion, off course, that will be the most pious thing for him/her to do even if it is a heinous crime otherwise.

Someone asked a hindu who was worshipping an idol he himself had just crafted, “Why are you worshipping an idol you just created yourself. You know it is your creation.” And he replied,“If you have belief then this is goddess, if you don’t it is an idol.”
