I dont think the reason was demography or center of the earth blah blah.

The core reason was poetry. We can not understand the dynamics of this reason unless we deeply study their history, cultural indulgence. These Arabs were very fond of poetry and they were proud of their rich literary icons.

Quran’s Challenge is pretty tricky one. No doubt poetry of this book is class apart. Epitome of style and presentation. But this challenge was just to irritate and frustrate Arab enemies of Islam. They were proud and arrogant. Poetry was just like spinal chord for their culture. The challenge was hard hitting on their nerves.

They were masters of this language and its poetry. The quranic challenge was just like an unknown boxer saying to a current world champion that you can not beat me even in your home ground. Come on hit me, hit me if you can !
