saying that i will never walk alone in Brixton:D
peckham has its parts. anyone remember norrf peckham estates, I mean yeah now its torn down and stuff, but that area was just trouble.
areas closer to east dulwich, peckham rye lane over towards lordship lane was decent, and one of the best doner kebabs was right there on lordship lane, yelmez kebab, which has since moved to peckham and this new kebab and curry or whatever its called opened there now.
Now rye lane itself was much cleaner and much nicer a while back, anyone who saw the place in 80's would know, u had siginificantly more stores large ones liek C&A, M&S, BHS and well teh entire chains are gone now, but peckham did not replace it with good stores. zodiac toys was one of the places I used to spend hours as a child, even though it was pretty small.
as far as brixton and peckham go, a few years ago peckham was actually considered scarier than brixton.
there seems to be a revival recently, and speaking of revivals..what is going on at lordship lane. I did not come home for a few years and now its like a happening place.

OMG i grew up near Rye lane was always down there :D now you see africans every where, and meat shops (most of which are owned by my relatives hehehe im not proud of tht)
i havent been down there in years do you know the ogora market (i think thats how you spell it) my grandad had a shop there. i remember there used to be a wicked toy shop in there..... there was lots of nice shops there that have gone :)
i went to bundu khan on saturday, ws nice food i got to say. yeh they need to extend their menu, a bit pricey, but then again everything is going up now. i mean chicken karahi was £8.50, and in lahore karahi its about £8.00 so few pence difference, but nice quality, nice service i got to say mashala. their interior is v nice, i think they prob cud do with a bit more seating though.
theres nothing wrong with east london! i grew up in manor park/forest gate area moved to ilford for secondary school, yes it has its down points but its home, i love it! all the desiness, i mean you can go out wearing shalwar kameez and not getting dodgey luks, find kulfi, mangos, etc etc i lovee it, cudnt imagine being newhere else

sunnyboy, iv been therem totally crap. their food aint that good, and espically kebabish on green street, gave you a stomace ache.
has anyone been to minqala restaurant in edgware road, thats totally good food.
one thing i just want to point out, on chand raath i went with my husband to green street, so we had our little fun, u know buying churiya for everyone etc. but i saw sum girls, who think they so special or sumthing, or that god has made them so haseen and jameel. kuch ladkiyon ne aisi kapre pehne huein thein ke thoba, i mean in the cold weather, i saw a girl weariong yellow clothes, linen clothes which u wud wear in proper summer time, and she wasnt wearing a jumper or anything, and u cud tell she was cold, and on top of that she had makeup on like she was about to get married or sumthing. i mean come on girls when will u grow up, u teeny boppers! no guy is gna ask u out like that honey, if they do they probably immature or something. just wanted to get that out of my chest!!! :-)
hi aishii, i agree with u, that u wear shalwar kameez and no one gives u the looks, true.
i been to ilford lane for Chicken cottage etc, infact last night me n my hubby went Dixy chicken and they were open at 12am! which is good.
