Stop watching MTV. If you want quality, you've got to watch VH1.
As for hip hop videos, they are sooo racy ... but that's what makes them popular. I once watched this hip hop documentary on, I think it was VH1, called 'Honey Girls'. It was about the politics that goes on behind these videos and how they always pick the light skinned kaalis to dance, and how the dark skinned girls are never given a chance. Sad stuff.
^^ well the videos on BET, they all get chance but yeah i did notice the fair ones are shown more on the screen while the rest are either back or side dancers.
Ashtray, you have no idea what they play on BET uncut :(
MTV is definitely not suitable for kiddies or even teenagers if you ask me. They even uncensored 'fcuk'. Me thinks it's cuz of the 'Osbournes'show. The whole show would be one big 'beep' sound if they censored it :p. Music video's these are nasty, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd stop censoring those too ..
Music wise I am still stuck in the 80s and early 90s. Mehnaz, I have watched VH1 but really the music these days is so not my type. And videos, I have realized, just kill the music for me, not to mention that at this old age the rapidly changing screen shots make it impossible for me to keep up with the theme. khush.
The only videos I can watch are live ones with all the energy a band displays for the million or so audience.
Shinoo, Ozzy ko kuch na kehna yaar, yeh show uski majboori tha.
Never heard of BET, is it recent, what genre do they normally play?
MWTP, thanks, you may be right about the song. To me the video was confusing, even though I just glimpsed the ending moments. What sort of song would require such scenes is beyond me. Being an old foggy I am assuming that a video is in support of the lyrics and music, could be wrong.
